Cherryblossom

from Unmade - EP by Ian Cromwell

/

lyrics

I still recall the day I met her
An April morning just like any other; just one of those things And now I can’t seem to forget her
The march of time it fills my mind with memories of spring
She had a smile that looked like sunshine
With cherry blossoms falling in her hair as black as night
And when I saw her I lost my mind
But when I looked into her eyes I knew everything would be all right
And it seems that I am kissing lips like Cherryblossom’s in my dreams But when I wake up they’re all gone so
I have to wait ‘til April showers bring this flower back to me
I’ll see her when winter’s chill is done
She told me she lived with her father
But every summer flew from Brooklyn to her mom’s in Tokyo
We spent three rainy weeks together
But when the seasons changed she got on that plane and I had to watch her go
The sunrise means the cold is fading
The warmer weather breathes its promise to the buds on every tree And I just cannot stand the waiting
‘Til winter ends and springtime brings her back to me
And it’s cold outside, but I’ve got my love to keep me warm
